What are the main materials used in ZINUS mattresses?

The main materials used in ZINUS mattresses are urethane foam and coils.

■ Urethane foam

(1) Main features of urethane foam: - Supports the body with a "surface" - High body pressure dispersion - Easy to fit the body - Can accommodate various sleeping positions

(2) Types of urethane foam : Low resilience: Soft and comfortable, enveloping the body. High resilience: Firm, preventing the body from sinking.

(3) Characteristics of ZINUS urethane foam
This is an original urethane foam with ZINUS's unique features that provides even greater comfort.

(4) Points to consider when choosing a urethane foam mattress

- For a more enveloping sleeping experience, mattresses that use urethane foam typically have a softer foam on top that comes into direct contact with the body, with a firmer foam layered underneath to support the body in the ideal sleeping position.

If you prefer a more enveloping sleeping experience, choosing a mattress with a thicker, softer foam top will provide greater comfort.

■ Coil

(1) Main features of the coil : Supports the body at "points" Excellent body pressure distribution Elasticity makes it easy to turn over in bed

(2) Types of coils Bonnell coil: Highly durable connected coils Pocket coil: Single coils that support the body at specific points

(3) ZINUS coil characteristics
At ZINUS, we develop a wide variety of mattresses by combining different coil diameters (thickness) and types of foam, and offer a wide range of mattresses to meet a variety of needs.

(4) Points to consider when choosing a coil mattress

- Coil mattresses are characterized by their high breathability compared to foam mattresses. If you are concerned about humidity or heat buildup, choosing a coil mattress will often improve your comfort.

- Easy to turn over in bed The coils have strong bouncing power, so it is recommended for those who want to turn over easily.

1. About ZINUS urethane foam

Urethane foam has the advantage of being highly capable of dispersing body pressure, supporting the body over a wide surface, and easily fitting to the body .

At ZINUS, we develop original urethane foams with different hardness levels.

By layering foams of different hardness at just the right thickness, we create a wide variety of mattresses that solve various problems related to sleeping comfort and provide mattresses that will ensure a good night's sleep.

Here we introduce the main ZINUS urethane foams used in mattresses.

(1) GreenTea memory foam

Original foam for fresh sleep

This is ZINUS' original memory foam, containing natural green tea ingredients and activated carbon.

We have developed an original blend of these ingredients to help you fall asleep feeling fresh every night.

<1> Features of Green Tea Memory Foam

▶ A soft, gentle, and comfortable sleep

Memory foam is a foam developed by NASA to absorb heat and shock in spacecraft.

Memory foam is characterized by its soft, comfortable feel, as it sinks in gently and envelops you.

▶ Excellent body pressure distribution, maintains natural sleeping posture, and accommodates various sleeping positions

Memory foam provides excellent pressure distribution, supporting the body over a wide area, following the curves of the body, without applying pressure to a single point such as the hips or shoulders. This allows you to achieve a natural, ideal sleeping position, similar to when you are upright, for a sound and healthy sleep.

Another feature is that the mattress sinks to the curves of your body, making it suitable for a variety of sleeping positions, including side sleeping.

<2> Who is suitable for Green Tea Memory Foam?

▶ I want to sleep wrapped up in your arms

Memory foam is characterized by its enveloping comfort. For petite or light people (under 60 kg), a hard mattress that doesn't sink in enough can cause the waist to rise, resulting in the body being supported by the buttocks and shoulder blades. This can lead to poor circulation in these areas, which can cause pain.

Therefore, we recommend a mattress made with memory foam, which is soft and provides a comfortable cushion.

▶ For heavier people, use firmer foam or coils.

For people who are overweight, their buttocks may sink too far, causing their body to assume a curved position, putting strain on the lower back and causing pain.

In such cases, it's important to choose a mattress that provides adequate support, with memory foam layered with firmer foam or coils.

This is a truly comfortable foam that combines a soft sleeping experience with excellent body pressure distribution.

<1> Features of Comfort Foam

▶ Softer and less enveloping than memory foam

Comfort foam provides a softness and comfort that makes you feel like you're on a cloud.

It maintains excellent body pressure distribution, but doesn't have the sinking sensation of memory foam.

<2> Who is suitable for Comfort Foam?

▶ A soft mattress that doesn't sink too much

For those who like a soft sleeping experience but don't like the feeling of sinking into the mattress, we recommend a mattress made with comfort foam.

(3) Zinus Base Foam™

High-density foam base

It is a high density foam that provides a firm, hard base.

<1> Features of the base form

▶ Soft foam for comfort & base foam for support

The base foam is often layered on the bottom, and then a soft foam such as memory foam is layered on top to give the area that comes into contact with the body a soft feel, while the base foam prevents unbalanced sinking and provides support, allowing you to maintain a natural, stable sleeping position.

<2> Who is suitable for the base form?

▶ People who like a firm sleeping experience

Base foam is the foundation of the mattress and is used in many mattresses.

Among these, mattresses that have a thin memory foam or cross fiber upper layer, a thick base foam, or a hard base foam will provide a firm sleeping experience.

If you like a firm sleeping experience or weigh over 80 kg, you should choose this type of mattress.

<3> Recommended mattresses using ZINUS base foam

ZINUS base foam is the foundation of the mattress and is used in many mattresses. Among them, we will introduce a mattress that only has a firm base foam.

2. About ZINUS coils

Mattresses contain spiral coils. The thickness (wire diameter) of the coils affects the comfort of sleeping on them; the thinner the wire diameter, the softer the mattress, and the thicker the wire diameter, the firmer the mattress.

At ZINUS, we combine different coil diameters and types to adjust the sleeping comfort, developing mattresses that can help a wide range of people sleep comfortably.

Here we introduce the main ZINUS coils used in mattresses.

(1) Bonnell coil

▶ Bonnell coil with connected coils

Bonnell coils are linked steel spring coils that offer a firm sleeping experience and are highly durable.

<1> Features of Bonnell coils

▶ Firm sleeping comfort and excellent durability

Bonnell coils are recommended for those who like a firm sleeping experience, want high elasticity to make it easy to turn over, and want a durable mattress that can be used for a long time.

Also, because the coils are connected, it is easier for the vibrations to be transmitted, making it more suitable for sleeping alone than for multiple people.

At ZINUS, we layer highly durable bonnell coils with foam in an exquisite balance to provide a mattress that not only supports a comfortable sleep but can also be used for a long time.

<2> Who is suitable for Bonnell coils?

It is recommended for those who like a firm sleeping experience. It is relatively more affordable than pocket coils, so it can help you keep your budget down.

<3> Recommended mattresses using bonnell coils

Bonnell coil + high density foam mattress

This mattress is made with a firmer mattress that combines bonnell coils with comfort foam and base foam. It is breathable and prevents moisture and heat buildup. It also has resilience, making it extremely comfortable to sleep on.

(2) Pocket coil

▶ Each coil moves independently

Pocket coils consist of steel spring coils that are individually wrapped or "pocketed," allowing each coil to move independently.

<1> Features of pocket coils

▶ Excellent body pressure distribution with "point" support

Pocket coils are independent coils that move independently when weight is applied, allowing the body to be supported at "points," conforming to the body's curves and providing excellent pressure distribution.

It also allows you to maintain a natural, upright sleeping position, ensuring a comfortable sleep.

It feels like you're being supported rather than sinking in like memory foam.

It is more elastic than foam, so it makes it easier to turn over in bed.

▶ Comfortable sleep for multiple people

Pocket coils move independently, so they are less likely to shake, making them ideal for sleeping with other people, such as children or partners.

<2> Who is suitable for pocket coils?

▶ I want moderate resilience

Pocket coils have a bouncy, resilient feel compared to foam, making it easier to sleep on and get up.

Turning over in bed is extremely important to avoid waking up due to discomfort in the body while sleeping, which can lower the quality of your sleep. If you find it difficult to turn over in bed due to muscle weakness, we recommend pocket coil mattresses.

▶ I want to support my body by dispersing body pressure at points

Each pocket coil is independent, so it conforms to the curves of your body, supporting you at specific points, helping you maintain an ideal sleeping position and leading to a good night's sleep.

Recommended for those who like the feeling of having their body supported at points.

▶ I want to eliminate humidity and heat buildup

Pocket coils are breathable, so they can help prevent humidity and heat buildup. If you are sensitive to heat or are concerned about sweat or humidity, we recommend pocket coils.

<3> Recommended mattresses using pocket coils

Prime Support Hybrid Mattress (ZJ-MSSBA1-13)

The combination of microfiber quilting, high-density foam, and pocket coils provides a soft, fluffy surface for relaxation, while also providing moderate resilience and firm stability for a deep sleep. The edges are surrounded by firm pocket coils for edge support, preventing falls from the bed and allowing for spaciousness and ease of entry and exit.
